Dedication Page
We are learning about why author's put a dedication page. We will be putting dedication pages in our writing workshop books. These are all the dedications Nancy Carlson has put in some of her books.

Rocks
For Science this week we continue to record changes in our Mold Gardens we also did an observation on a rock. We passed the rock around the circle and each child used one word to describe the rock.

Spanish This Week
We had so much fun learning the body parts in Spanish. We sang songs and learned Simon Says. This class loves to sing and dance!!!
Leprachans
Mrs. Mead's class made leprechaun traps and Mrs. Mead come into KC and shared some of her Leprechaun stories with us. Her class made friendly traps for homework. Students in KC have been talking and writing about the Bates Leprechaun. We will share some of our stories this week on a Voice Thread.

Making Shapey
We received a very special letter from a shape person called Shapey. Shapey heard we are amazing problem solvers and left us with a math project to solve. Shapey is made of a certain shapes and he is symmetrical. We had to help make a self-portrait of Shapey for his dad's birthday. Here we are working on Shapey.
3 D Shapes
We have been learning about 3 D shapes this week! We have been looking around the classroom and the playground for different 3 D shapes. The class web page has the recent math newsletter posted. We worked with 3 D on creating 3 D shapes with tooth picks.

The Morning Message
Showing Our Feelings At Writing
We are learning in KC that good writers show how they are feeling! We are becoming experts on telling our feelings. We made a strong feelings chart last week and now we are working on what the feeling looks like and sounds like. We played charades using our bodies and trying to guess the feeling.

Math Workshop
Next week we move into 3 D shapes. Your child will be bringing home a sheet to look for 3 D shapes at home. The pictures below are students working on our pattern puzzle books!
