Shapey

Shapey was a math problem we had to solve!
He is symmetrical.
You needed to use 5 rectangles
4 squares
4 circles
1 pentagon
 2 triangles
2 rhombuses
We have a few more Shapey's that will be added at the end of the day!
This was a tricky math problem to solve!

Morning Message

This morning messaged focused on missing words/letters and finding ROCK words. Ask your child what a Rock word is? We focused on reading the message and making sure it made sense! We circled ROCK words.

Dedication Page

We are learning about why author's put a dedication page. We will be putting dedication pages in our writing workshop books. These are all the dedications Nancy Carlson has put in some of her books.

Rocks

For Science this week we continue to record changes in our Mold Gardens we also did an observation on a rock. We passed the rock around the circle and each child used one word to describe the rock.

Passing the rock around and using one word to describe it.

We did a Science observation sheet and used our class properties chart to help!
We read these books about Rocks.

Spanish This Week

We had so much fun learning the body parts in Spanish. We sang songs and learned Simon Says. This class loves to sing and dance!!!

Leprachans

Mrs. Mead's class made leprechaun traps and Mrs. Mead come into KC and shared some of her Leprechaun stories with us. Her class made friendly traps for homework. Students in KC have been talking and writing about the Bates Leprechaun. We will share some of our stories this week on a Voice Thread.

Leprechaun's like green. They think of it a lot.

We saw these footprints by the lockers leading into Mrs. Mead's class!

This is one for the first grade traps.
